Day 14 - Fasting & Prayer

“A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”

Congratulations, church family! You’ve reached Day 14 of this 21-day fast—two full weeks of sacrifice, prayer, and pressing into God’s presence. What an incredible milestone! With just one week to go, let us focus on the promise of Psalm 91:7, a verse that assures us of God’s unwavering protection and power.

As we fast and seek God, we are engaging in spiritual warfare. Battles may rage around us—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—but Psalm 91:7 reminds us that, even when thousands fall to the left and right, God’s protection surrounds His faithful people. No harm will overtake you because God Himself is your refuge.

This fast is not just about denying the body; it is about equipping our spirits to stand strong in the face of trials and distractions. You have persevered for 14 days despite challenges, and that is a testimony to the strength God has placed within you. Take heart! The same God who has sustained you so far will give you the grace to finish strong.

As we enter the final week, let this be a time of renewed focus. Think of this fast as a spiritual “race.” You are nearing the finish line, where we will celebrate and worship together as a church family. Remember, God’s protection and presence have been with you every step of the way, just as Psalm 91:7 promises.

If you’ve faced spiritual opposition, know that the enemy cannot prevail against you. If you’ve stumbled or fallen short during this fast, don’t be discouraged—God’s grace covers you. Stand up, press forward, and finish the race with confidence, knowing that God is your strength and shield.

Together, as we prepare to break this fast in celebration and worship, we can look forward to the blessings and breakthroughs God has in store for us.

Picture a soldier standing on the battlefield. Though the chaos of war surrounds them, they stand tall and unmoved, shielded by an impenetrable force. Arrows fly past, and enemies fall all around, yet the soldier remains untouched because of the unseen protection surrounding them.

This is what it looks like to be a child of God. Fasting may feel like a battlefield at times—temptations, distractions, and weariness may try to overcome us—but God is our shield. He promises that no matter the chaos around us, we are safe in His care.

Prayer Points

 1. Thanksgiving for God’s Sustaining Grace:

Lord, thank You for carrying us through the first two weeks of this fast. Your grace has sustained us, and Your protection has surrounded us.

 2. Strength for the Final Week:

Father, renew our strength as we enter the final stretch of this fast. Help us to focus on You and finish strong.

 3. Spiritual Breakthroughs:

Lord, we pray for breakthroughs in our lives, families, and church. Let this fast unlock new levels of faith, healing, and purpose.

 4. Protection Over the Church Family:

Father, we declare Your promise in Psalm 91:7 over our church family. Protect us from all harm, both seen and unseen, and guard our hearts and minds as we seek You.

 5. Preparation for Celebration and Worship:

Lord, prepare our hearts for the celebration and worship to come. Let our unity as a church family reflect You.

Reflect on how far God has brought you over these 14 days. Speak Psalm 91:7 over your life today and declare, “God is my protector, and I will not be afraid.” Press on with confidence—victory is near!
