Good morning,
Scripture: “And He said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, Thou knowest.’” — Ezekiel 37:3 (KJV)
As we enter Day 17 of our fast, we come face to face with the unanswered questions of life. Each of us carries quiet gaps within our soul — spaces where explanations never fully formed, where closure never arrived, where prayers seemed to linger in silence. The whys echo in our inner world: Why am I like this? Why did this happen? Why can’t I move forward? Even David voiced these human questions: “Why do the heathen rage?” and “Why art thou cast down, O my soul?” These are not signs of weak faith — they are evidence of honest humanity reaching for God.
Then come the whens — burning questions that sit deep in the heart: When will my change come? When will the right job appear? When will healing arrive? When will God answer? Alongside them stand the wheres: Where did I go wrong? Where does my help come from? Where do I go to escape this weight? And finally, the hows and whats: How did I get here? What steps should I take? What move do I make next? Though our surface lives may appear confident and composed, our inner selves quietly wrestle with troubling questions every day.
The truth is — none of us ever fully “figure life out.” No one reaches the end of life able to say, “I solved every mystery. I filled every gap. I am complete in myself.” Completeness is not found in having all the answers — it is found in knowing the One who does. When God asked Ezekiel if the dry bones could live, Ezekiel did not pretend to know. He simply replied, “O Lord God, Thou knowest.” This is the highest form of faith — surrendering our unanswered questions into God’s all-knowing hands.
So today, when your mind wrestles with whys, whens, wheres, hows, and whats, rest in this truth: God knows. He knows your past, your wounds, your delays, your future, your purpose, and your final outcome. Our peace does not come from answered questions — it comes from trusting the God who already holds the answers.
Prayer:
O Lord God, Thou knowest. I release my unanswered questions into Your hands. Where I do not understand, teach me to trust. Where I feel incomplete, remind me that You are my fullness. Quiet my searching heart with the assurance that You know. Amen.
Stay diligent,
