2026 Prayer & Fasting - Week 3 Day 2

Good morning,

Scripture: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

As we move deeper into Week Three of our fast, we confront one of the quietest yet most dangerous enemies of spiritual growth — distraction. Distractions come in many forms. Some are welcomed comforts, others are unwanted intrusions. A thought, a desire, an attraction, a sudden need, an old habit, or a subtle temptation can pull us off course in a moment. One minute we are walking steadily in devotion; the next, our focus is fractured. This is not accidental — the enemy constantly prowls, seeking to disarm, dethrone, and devalue the sanctifying work God is doing in us.

Scripture calls us to be alert and vigilant. Sanctification is fragile when we become careless with our attention. The enemy rarely attacks openly; more often, he distracts quietly. He diverts prayer time, dulls hunger for the Word, fuels emotional reactions, and tempts us to compromise “just a little.” But God’s mercies are new every morning. Even when we stumble, He calls us back to steadiness. Faithfulness is not perfection — it is persistence.

This is why consistent devotion matters. Faithfulness is choosing prayer when you feel distracted. Choosing worship when you feel dry. Choosing obedience when you feel tempted. Choosing focus when everything in you wants to drift. Every time you return your attention to God, you strengthen your spiritual endurance. Every act of consistency deepens sanctification.

So today we pray, “Make me faithful in all things.” Faithful in thought. Faithful in desire. Faithful in discipline. Faithful in worship. Faithful in this fast. Stay the course. Be watchful. The God who is perfectly faithful is strengthening you to become the same.

Prayer:

Lord, make me faithful in all things. Open my eyes to every distraction meant to derail me. Strengthen my focus, sharpen my vigilance, and keep me steady in devotion. I will stay the course. Amen.

Stay alert,
