“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.” Psalm 91:5
Good morning,
Great is thy faithfulness oh Lord.
As we continue this 21-day fast, we are reminded of the powerful promises found in Psalm 91. Verse 5 assures us that God’s protection is constant, both in times of uncertainty (“the terror by night”) and in moments of visible threats (“the arrow that flieth by day”). This promise speaks directly to our fears—whether they come from what we cannot see or what seems to attack us head-on.
Fasting can sometimes bring moments of vulnerability. Maybe you’ve been feeling physically tired or spiritually stretched. Perhaps fear or doubt has crept in, making you question whether you can complete this fast or if your prayers are even making a difference. But take heart: the God who covers you under His wings (Psalm 91:4) also protects you day and night, shielding you from harm and sustaining you with His strength.
Imagine a small child walking beside their parent on a busy street. The child doesn’t notice the dangers around them—the speeding cars, the cracks in the sidewalk, or the crowds passing by. They simply hold their parent’s hand, trusting that their parent sees everything and will keep them safe.
In the same way, God is our protector. He sees every danger, both seen and unseen, and He is constantly shielding us. While we may be unaware of the “terrors” or “arrows” around us, we can trust that He is faithfully guarding us, guiding us through every moment of this fast and beyond.
To the faithful members who have persevered through these twelve days, thank you for your steadfastness. Your sacrifice and commitment have not gone unnoticed, both by God and by your church family. You are laying a foundation for spiritual growth, breakthroughs, and blessings that will extend far beyond these 21 days.
To anyone who feels weak or unsure, remember this: you do not fast alone. God’s constant presence surrounds you, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are under His protection, and His strength will carry you through.
Whether you’re fasting a little or a lot, God is with you. Trust Him to sustain you for the days ahead, just as He has for the days behind.
Prayer Points

Lord, thank You for being our constant shield, protecting us from all dangers, seen and unseen. We trust in Your faithfulness.
2. Strength to Complete the Fast:
Father, give us the physical, emotional, and spiritual strength to persevere through the remaining days of this fast. Help us to rely on You fully.
3. Overcoming Fear:
Lord, remind us of Your presence when fear or doubt tries to creep in. Help us to rest in the truth that You are in control of all things.
4. Spiritual Breakthroughs:
God, as we fast and pray, let this time be a season of transformation. Grant breakthroughs, healings, and answers to the prayers of Your people.
5. Unity and Encouragement for All Participants:
Father, unite us as a church family during this fast. Help us to encourage one another and to see Your hand at work in each of our lives.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our protector and provider. We rest in the promise that You shield us from the terrors of the night and the arrows of the day. As we continue this fast, remind us that we are held in Your loving hands. Strengthen our hearts, quiet our fears, and let Your presence be our comfort and peace. We declare that You are our refuge, and we trust in You completely. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Be blessed and be a blessing,
Pastor
