2026 Prayer & Fasting - Week 3 Day 1

Good morning,

Scripture: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

Congratulations, today we celebrate another milestone: two weeks down and one to go. It’s perhaps a good time to do a quick assessment to determine how your journey is going: are you growing spiritually, what have you learned so far, and are you on target to reaching your fasting goals? With only one week to go, you should be seeing progress, however, don’t be dismayed if you are barely struggling through with nothing more than hunger pangs and a noisy stomach. Progress takes time. Remember, the race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but to the one who endures to the end.

As we step into Week Three of our fast, God brings us to the foundation of holy living — a renewed mind. Holiness is not first about outward behavior; it begins in our thought life. What we allow to shape our thinking will eventually shape our actions, our habits, and our character. The world constantly presses its patterns upon us — fear, compromise, lust, pride, bitterness, distraction — but God calls us to think differently. A renewed mind is a mind trained to think God’s thoughts, to see life through His perspective, and to respond according to His truth.

Fasting helps expose the places where our minds have been cluttered or conformed. As physical appetites quiet, inner noise settles, and the Holy Spirit begins His deep work of re-alignment. God’s Word becomes the cleansing agent of the mind — washing away old thought patterns and replacing them with truth, purity, faith, and clarity. This is the pathway to holiness: not striving harder in our own strength, but allowing God’s Word to rewire how we think.

Holiness in the mind produces holiness in life. When our thinking is renewed, we speak differently, love differently, forgive more freely, serve more humbly, and resist temptation more effectively. The church becomes stronger when believers think with sanctified minds. Families heal when thoughts are governed by grace. Decisions become wiser when our reasoning is shaped by Scripture rather than impulse.

Today we pray, “Renew my mind by Your Word.” Let God rewrite the narratives in your thinking. Let Him replace fear with faith, confusion with clarity, compromise with conviction. This is not just personal growth — it is holy transformation. And as our minds are renewed, our lives will increasingly reflect the holiness of the God we serve.

Prayer:

Lord, renew my mind by Your Word. Remove every thought pattern that does not honor You. Fill my mind with truth, purity, faith, and wisdom. Let holiness begin in my thinking and flow into every area of my life. Amen.

Stay holy,
