Good morning,
Scripture: “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4–7
There are moments in life when we feel completely overwhelmed — when circumstances press so heavily that we wonder how we will endure another step. At times, it feels like Joseph in the pit, David in the Valley of Elah facing a battle larger than himself, Israel wandering in the wilderness with no clear path, Jonah swallowed in darkness, or Pharaoh’s army drowning in chaos. In these moments, the heart cries out for rescue. We call to God, “Let down Your net. Search for me. Lift me from this place.” And like David, our prayer rises: “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”
As we end Week 2, today’s focus is Christ’s love — a love that does not collapse under pressure. Scripture tells us love bears, believes, hopes, and endures. That means when we are overwhelmed, God’s love is not overwhelmed. It remains steady when our emotions shake, constant when our strength fails, present when answers delay. His love is the rescue net. His love is the rock. His love is the voice that says, “You are not alone in this.”
Yet this devotional is not only about receiving love — it is also about letting that love flow through us. When we are under pressure, it is easy to withdraw, shut down, or become consumed by our own struggle. But Christ’s love calls us to keep our hearts open — to comfort others even while we are comforted, to encourage even while we are being strengthened. God often meets us in our overwhelm by turning us into vessels of His love for someone else.
So today, if life feels heavy, do not despair. Cry out to God honestly. Let Him lift you. Let Him steady you. And as He does, allow His love to flow through you — to your family, your church, your friendships, and even to strangers who are quietly fighting their own battles.
Prayer:
Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. Let Your love rescue me, restore me, and then flow through me to others. Hold me steady in the storm. Amen.
Stay lifted,
