Scripture: “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42
Good morning,
On this third day of Week Two, we are invited into one of the most powerful and challenging prayers a believer can pray: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” These words shift us from control to surrender, from self-direction to divine leading. Fasting softens the heart and quiets the flesh, creating sacred space for God to work deeply within us. When we yield our will, we give God permission to shape, correct, heal, and transform every area of our lives.
God’s work in us is never limited to the spiritual compartment alone. He desires to touch our walk with Him, our relationships, our marriages, our families, our service in the church, our health, our thought patterns, and even our careers. Sometimes we ask God to bless what we have already planned, when instead He is inviting us to release our plans and trust His greater design. Yielding may feel risky, but it is the doorway to God’s best.
In surrender, God rebuilds what is broken, strengthens what is weak, and realigns what has drifted. He teaches us how to love better, forgive freely, serve humbly, live healthfully, think clearly, and work purposefully. When we are fully yielded, every aspect of life becomes a testimony of grace in action. The church flourishes when its people are surrendered, families heal when hearts are yielded, and ministries thrive when God’s will is honored above personal preference.
Today, let us pray with honesty and courage: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” May this not be a whispered phrase, but a wholehearted offering. As we yield, may God perform a great work in us — one that overflows into our homes, our churches, our communities, and every path we walk.
Prayer:
Father, not my will, but Yours be done. Have Your way in my heart, my relationships, my family, my church life, my health, my thoughts, and my career. Do a great work in me that reflects Your glory. Amen.
Be yielded,
