Good morning,
As we continue on Day 5 of our fast, we lean into one of the greatest gifts God gives His people — the ability to hear His voice. In a world filled with competing voices, opinions, trends, and agendas, clarity from God is more necessary than ever. Fasting quiets the noise of the flesh, while prayer sharpens the ear of the spirit. Today we posture ourselves with Samuel’s ancient prayer: “Speak Lord, Your servant is listening.” To hear God clearly is not only a privilege; it is a responsibility.
This is especially vital for the Church in this season, which today appears to be leaning toward apostacy, a state of abandoning the very principles on which it was founded. Many congregations are navigating uncertainty, cultural pressure, shifting values, and internal strain. Influential church leaders have gone astray and the ones who remain faithful carry heavy burdens — discerning direction, shepherding people, and guarding doctrine while remaining compassionate and accessible. When leadership loses sensitivity to God’s voice, vision becomes blurred, unity weakens, and personal agendas begin to replace divine purpose. But when leaders listen together at the feet of Christ, alignment is restored, vision becomes clear, and the church moves forward in strength rather than confusion.
Today we pray for the church globally and for our church locally. We pray for unity within leadership — pastors, elders, ministry heads, and volunteers — that they may hear God not in isolation but in harmony. Unity does not mean uniformity; it means shared submission to the same Shepherd. As leaders listen to God together, personal preferences fade, egos soften, and the collective vision of God takes center stage. A church that hears God clearly will follow God confidently.
Let this day be one of deep spiritual attentiveness. May God silence distraction, amplify discernment, and renew prophetic clarity within His Church. And as we listen, may we also obey — because hearing God’s voice is always meant to lead to action.
Prayer:
Speak Lord, Your servant is listening. Sharpen my spiritual ears. Bring back power to the church and its leaders instead of the form of godliness which now prevails across the global landscape. Transform the hearts of church leaders. Align us with Your vision. Let Your voice be louder than every other voice. Lead Your Church in clarity, unity, and purpose. Amen.
Stay listening,
