Good morning,
Glad you decided to join us on 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer. In this new season, as he did with Adam, God is inviting us to commune with him. Communion with God keeps us connected, prevents distractions and provides us with clear direction for each day. As long as Adam remained in Gods presence, sin and evil was absent. So today we will:
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
For those just joining us,let’s review the Purpose of This Fast so tbat we are clear moving into the weeks ahead.
This season of prayer and fasting is a sacred time for our church family to:
• Deepen intimacy with God
• Hear His voice more clearly
• Seek divine direction
• Strengthen spiritual discipline
• Experience renewal and breakthrough
Fasting does not twist God’s arm.
It positions our hearts to receive what God already desires to release. Only through fasting and prayer can we truly become sensitive to His voice to hear the desire of His heart for our lives,
Therefore, in fasting we voluntarily abstain from food (or other normal comforts) for a spiritual purpose.
It is always joined with prayer.
Prayer speaks to God.
Fasting quiets everything else.
Your Daily Rhythm During the Fast should look like this ;
Morning:
Begin the day with Scripture and prayer.
Offer your day to God.
Midday:
Pause for reflection and brief prayer.
Evening:
Close with thanksgiving, journaling, or quiet meditation.
Today’s Focus – Hunger for God
Scripture: Matthew 5:6
Focus: Stir a deeper desire for God
Prayer: “Lord, increase my hunger for You above all else.”
