DAY 8 Fasting & Prayer

Good morning, people of God. Today is Day 8, marking the beginning of Week 2 in our 21-day fast. How are you feeling?

It is truly a blessing to wake up in the land of the living and to know that we are still cared for by our Heavenly Father. In these times, with all that is happening around us—the uncertainties of each new day and the fears they instill in our hearts—it is important to recognize that life is a gift. To wake up is a blessing, and to still feel God’s presence is nothing short of miraculous. James 1:17 reminds us: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” How wondrous it is that God’s unfailing love remains consistent in our lives. Truly, this is something to be grateful for.

In recent days, we have witnessed the calamity unfolding in Los Angeles, California, where a single spark has turned into a raging inferno. This fire has escalated into a wall of destruction, threatening lives, livestock, homes, and valuable structures minute by minute. It feels as though hell itself has invaded the earth. As tragic as this is, we can still see the hand of God at work, covering and protecting those who call upon His name. Even in the midst of the greatest conflicts and the most difficult moments, God’s grace and mercy extend to those who dwell in Him. Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Today, I want to remind you to stay covered. Remain steadfast in the comfort and safety of God’s presence, where there is no shadow of turning. The well-known Psalm assures us: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Take note that there is indeed a place—a secret place, a hidden place of safety—in God. It is up to us to find it.

Are you dwelling in God’s secret place? How you emerge from life’s battles depends on where you were when you faced them. If you are not in that place, it’s time to enter—because there is a war going on.
